Penn State students, faculty and alumni entrepreneurs joined with venture firms and startup founders from across the United States for the 2023 Invent Penn State Venture & IP Conference, held Oct. 16-17 at the Hershey Lodge in Hershey.
Nominations are being accepted for the 2023-24 James H. Burness Award for Excellence in Teaching. The award is given annually to recognize any aspect of excellent instruction that contributes to the academic quality of Penn State York.
Recently tenured and promoted Penn State faculty across the University were honored Oct. 2 through Penn State’s Promotion and Tenure Recognition Program, now in its 21st year, during a private event held in the Paterno Family Humanities Reading Room on the second floor of Pattee Library at the University Park campus.
Joseph Bathanti, an award-winning author of fiction, nonfiction, and poetry, will give a reading and commentary to the Penn State York community on Monday, Nov. 6, at noon in the Lee R. Glatfelter Library on campus. The program is free and open to the public.
Plenty of fans wearing pink is what women's volleyball team members at Penn State York hope they will see at the "Pink Out" set for Thursday, Oct. 19, at 7 p.m. in the gym of the Joe and Rosie Ruhl Student Community Center. The game is free and open to the public.
Fourteen members of the Penn State York community participated in the 2023 "Walk a Mile in Her Shoes" event and raised $917 for victim services at the YWCA of York.
Penn State York students will have the opportunity to experience a Dance Appreciation class (Dance 100) beginning in spring 2024 thanks to a new offering on campus. The 3-credit course meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:05 - 10:20 a.m. beginning the week of Jan. 8, 2024.
Penn State York has partnered with the Harrisburg Area Community College (HACC) to offer a business-related workshop through a program called the HACC Symposium.
Submissions for the online literary magazine “Any Other Word" and the Penn State York Literary Competition are being accepted until Oct. 31. Student editor Calvin Bellomo encourages other students to submit their work.
