Discover the secrets of networking and building relationships

This program has been postponed due to the forecast of inclement weather. Building relationships, that’s what it's all about in today’s workplace. Cheryl Bonner, director of Alumni Career Services at Penn State, will share advice and resources for building those relationships during a presentation titled "How to Optimize Networking by Building Stronger Relationships" on Tuesday, Jan. 29, at Penn State York. The free program, which is open to the public, will begin at 6 p.m. in the Precision Custom Components (PCC) Community Room in the Joe and Rosie Ruhl Student Community Center on campus.

Program to focus on fundamentals of cybersecurity

Cyberattacks are on the rise and businesses and organizations are looking for ways to keep their networks safe and secure. Penn State York’s Fundamentals of Cybersecurity program is designed to introduce the basic concepts of cybersecurity to new and emerging information technology professionals. The six-week course meets from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays, Feb. 26 to April 2, and is $595.

Think summer at Penn State York

It is cold outside, but it is the perfect time to think summer classes at Penn State York. Two six-week sessions offer students the opportunity to take day, evening, or online classes, and still have an opportunity to enjoy summer. Some classes may also combine online with face-to-face instruction.

Creative works of fiction, poetry, drama still being accepted for York contest

Writers of fiction, poetry and drama who are interested in having their work published or performed should plan to enter the Penn State York Literary Competition sponsored by the Pullo Family Performing Arts Center (The Pullo Center) and “Any Other Word,” the campus’ online literary magazine. The competition is open to Penn State York students; submissions are being accepted through March 2.

Student will always feel a part of Penn State York

Like most college students, Luke Marsiglia will remember his college years fondly, but unlike most, the evidence of his work will remain at Penn State York forever. Marsiglia, who will graduate Dec. 14 with a bachelor of science in electro-mechanical engineering technology, had the unique experience of being a part of the construction of the renovated and expanded student center, which opened in 2016. At age 22, Marsiglia is leaving a legacy at Penn State York.

Plan to wear a favorite sports jersey when you attend the Late-night Breakfast on Monday, Dec. 10 from 7:30-9:30p.m., at Rosie’s, in the Joe and Rosie Ruhl Student Community Center, at Penn State York. This popular end-of-semester event is a free event for members of the Penn State York community.
