Students from eight campuses will take part in the Eastern Regional Undergraduate Research Symposium to share their work in a poster exhibition on Saturday, April 22, from noon to 4:30 p.m. in the conference center at Penn State York.
Award-winning author Marty Essen will give a free presentation at noon on April 18 at Penn State York, about his best-selling book, "Cool Creatures, Hot Planet: Exploring the Seven Continents.”
Six Penn State faculty members have received the 2023 George W. Atherton Award for Excellence in Teaching. They are Kevin Bell, associate professor of English in the College of the Liberal Arts; Joseph Cuiffi, assistant teaching professor of electro-mechanical engineering technology at Penn State New Kensington; Peter Heaney, professor of geosciences in the College of Earth and Mineral Sciences; Desiree Lim, assistant professor of philosophy in the College of the Liberal Arts; Megan Lorenz, lecturer in business administration at Penn State York; and Brenna Traver, associate professor of biology at Penn State Schuylkill.
Two Penn State York students have been working with Jorge Santiago-Blay, adjunct lecturer in biology at Penn State York, to assist in his new research project about birds.
Penn State York will honor students, faculty, and staff for their outstanding achievements for 2022-23 during the awards program set for Sunday, April 23, at 2 p.m.
Child abuse and child neglect prevention is the focus of a program and candlelight vigil set for Wednesday, April 5, at Penn State York. Students will place 250 pinwheels on the campus as a symbol of child abuse prevention. The program is free and open to the public.
The IMALIVE Mental Health Fair is set for Tuesday, April 4, at Penn State York. The fair is designed to help raise awareness and provide information and support to the campus community.
