Penn State York's 2019 ASB trip was to Wilmington, North Carolina, where students and chaperones worked om projects following the devastation of Hurricane Florence. Penn State York students participating in an alternative spring break this week in Texas have shared a few photos as their experience is coming to a close. The York group, consisting of 10 students and two chaperones, joined students and staff from five other Penn State campuses for a week of disaster-relief work in areas ravaged by Hurricane Harvey.

Helping other people, making a difference, the experience of meeting new people, stepping out of their comfort zone, sharing a meaningful goal, and putting spring break to good use are just some of the reasons given by Penn State York students about to travel to Texas, the Beaumont and Port Arthur areas, devastated by Hurricane Harvey.
Ten students and two chaperones will travel to Texas during the University's spring break in March to do disaster relief work. The York group is part of about a 100-member team from Penn State traveling to Beaumont and Port Arthur to volunteer.
