Penn State York has a variety of virtual events scheduled, April through May, to provide prospective students, accepted students, and current students with information about the campus and programs. Due to COVID-19, and the need for social distancing, these events, which are usually face-to-face, are now being offered virtually.
Virtual Accepted Student Programs
There’s still time for accepted students to attend the Virtual Accepted Student Program (ASP) from 9 to 11:30 a.m. on April 10 and May 21.. This virtual experience will provide an opportunity to learn about next steps, new student orientation, student life, financial aid, and more. Faculty, staff, and current students will be available to answer questions. Additional ASP programs will be added for May.
Virtual Visits - Special Topic Sessions
These virtual visits are designed to help prospective, accepted, and current students to learn more about offerings on campus. Session topics for Virtual Visits include the Graham Fellows Programs for Entrepreneurial Leadership (Graham Fellows Program), athletics, opportunities to participate in undergraduate research, student services, financial aid, and more. The programs, delivered via Zoom, are from 4-5 p.m. in April and May, and begin April 13.
Transfer Wednesdays
Transfer Wednesdays provide transfer students an opportunity to meet virtually with an admissions counselor to discuss the transfer application process, and how their previously earned college credits might transfer into Penn State. Registrants should plan to provide unofficial college transcripts for this virtual appointment. Students can register now for a Transfer Wednesday Virtual appointment (https://apply.psu.edu/portal/yk-pr-Trans), or call 717-771-4114 for additional appointment options.
Virtual Spring Open House
High school juniors or seniors, adults, or veterans interested in attending Penn State, will not want to miss this important virtual event at Penn State York from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, April 25. Attendees can learn about the admissions process and timeline, investigate financial aid options, interact with faculty, staff, and current students, and explore the 11 baccalaureate degree programs, which can be completed without leaving York. The campus also offers five associate degrees, a master of education in teaching and curriculum, an accelerated bachelor of science degree, a variety of minors, and credit certificates.
Students who attend the virtual open house or other virtual events prior to completing their application to Penn State can have their $65 application fee waived. Penn State York is a military-friendly campus, and veterans can use their benefits to earn a Penn State degree.
