A team of Penn State York students, faculty, staff and family members are set to participate in the Walk a Mile in Her Shoes event on Friday, Oct. 5, in York. The event is sponsored by the YWCA of York to raise awareness and support survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, and human trafficking.
YORK, Pa. — Walking to make a difference, members of the Penn State York community, including students, faculty, staff and family members, are teaming up to participate in Walk a Mile in Her Shoes on Friday, Oct. 5, in the city of York. The opening ceremony is set for 6 p.m., with the walk starting at 6:30 p.m. at 320 N. George St., with many participants wearing high heels.
Walk a Mile in Her Shoes brings together a community of passionate and diverse individuals to raise funds for YWCA of York’s work to support survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, and human trafficking. The campus has been one of the sponsors of the event for a number of years.
