Penn State York golf team wins Greater Allegheny Invitational

The golf team at Penn State York won the Penn State University Athletic Conference (PSUAC) Greater Allegheny Invitationa on Aug. 28, their first competition of the season. The Penn State York golf team won the Penn State University Athletic Conference (PSUAC) Greater Allegheny Invitational at the Youghiogheny Country Club in Elizabeth Township on Aug. 28.

In the season home opener, Logan Snyder, York’s team captain and a senior, shot 76 and won medalist (first place). Andrew Manges, a sophomore, shot 81 to capture second place. Other York standouts included Mason Steward, who shot a 91, and Ben Segal, who shot a 92.  oth Steward and Segal are first-year students.

“The team is off to a good start. I am confident that we will continue to improve,” said Joe Downing, head golf coach and associate professor and program coordinator for corporate communication at Penn State York.
