Penn State York student-athletes, Hannah Price, women’s volleyball, and Francyou Desse, soccer, were named the winners of the John Fritz Sportsmanship Award given by the Penn State University Athletic Conference (PSUAC). Awards are presented to athletes at each campus.

Portraying Norma Desmond, Anne Vardo-Zalik, associate professor of biology at Penn State York, brought the house down with an amazing performance of "With One Look," from "Sunset Boulevard" at last year's Paw Search. Paw Search 2018 is set for Jan. 12 with auditions scheduled for Dec. 1 from 1-4 p.m., and Dec. 4 from 4-8 p.m. This event is a fundraiser for Penn State York Benefiting THON with proceeds going to help children and their families battling pediatric cancer.

Penn State Trustees today (Nov. 10) approved the naming of a new building to be constructed at Penn State York in honor of Don Graham, York business leader, philanthropist, and longtime supporter of Penn State York.
Nominations are now being accepted for the 2017-18 Penn State York Advising Award. Students may submit nominations for the award, which is presented at the Academic Awards Program in April of each year.

Be committed and hold yourself accountable was advice from Becky Halstead, retired Brigadier General, United States Army, who shared her thoughts on leadership during a breakfast presentation entitled Inspiring Courageous Leadership on Nov. 8 at Penn State York. The program was part of The Graham Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership Studies Speaker Series, and was sponsored by the center and BAE Systems.
