May include seed grants (e.g., travel to collections, data collection, instrument development, exploratory data analysis), released time from teaching, purchase of research materials, research assistance, assistance with publication of major books, travel to conferences, and similar activities. Grants typically range from $250 to $2,000. |

Illustrative examples: attending workshops, invited presentations, attending conferences, experimenting with new teaching methods, conducting research or appropriate scholarly activities, creating new artistic products. Typical awards do not exceed $500. |

| Teaching Development Grant (TDG) |
Intended to provide a source of financial support for the instructional activities of full-time faculty at Penn State York. Intended to improve classroom instruction and enhance the quality of teaching and learning. Illustrative project examples: development of a web site, traveling to a pedagogical conference, developing (alone or in a team) a new course or series of courses, developing a study abroad experience, experimenting with new teaching approaches, designing a blended module, purchasing books or software. Typical awards do not exceed $500.00. |
