York Campus Community Blood Drive

Bob Lehman, a lieutenant in University Police and Public Safety at Penn State, takes the opportunity to bleed for a good cause and help save lives during a community blood drive at Penn State York several years ago. He is a regular blood donor. Penn State York, Fox43 news, and the American Red Cross are partnering for a community blood drive from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 26, in the conference center at Penn State York. All blood donors are required to wear masks while in University buildings.

Penn State York Benefiting THON is joining with the American Red Cross for a blood drive on Wednesday, Jan. 22 from 10  a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Precision Custom Components (PCC) Community Room in the Joe and Rosie Ruhl Student Community Center on campus.  The blood drive is open to the public.

This year's drive is set for Wednesday, Jan 23, from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Community Room of the Joe and Rosie Ruhl Student Community Center. In addition to giving blood, all donations also result in a monetary contribution to THON by the American Red Cross.

Penn State York, Fox43, and the American Red Cross have teamed up for a community blood drive from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 23, at the York campus. This is the third year for the blood drive and last year, Josh Wolgamuth, a Penn State York student majoring in biology, was happy to bleed for a good cause.

There is a critical need for blood donations according to the American Red Cross due to the inclement weather which has forced the cancellations or shortening of many blood drives across the country.  Penn State York Benefiting THON has partnered with the American Red Cross, and a blood drive is set for Wednesday, Jan. 24 from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the conference center of the Main Classroom Building.  Those interested can register in the student affairs office at Penn State York or online at www.redcrossblood.org using sponsor code Penn State York.

Campus and community shed blood for a good cause

Potentially, more than 200 lives may be saved thanks to the donors who participated in Penn State York’s Community Blood Drive in partnership with the American Red Cross and Fox 43 News on Aug. 24. There were 82 donors registered, including 27 first-time donors, and 78 pints of blood collected.

Never too busy for a good cause, Lieutenant Bob Lehman, Police and Public Safety Department at Penn State York, took a few minutes out of his schedule to make a donation.  The need for blood donations is critical, and members of the campus and community helped to make a difference.
