Athletic Awards Banquet 2018

Emily Colon, a Penn State York basketball player, left, was honored with the Chancellor's Award for Academic Character at Penn State York's Athletic Awards Banquet on April 11. The award was presented by Chancellor David W. Chown, right. This is a new award designed to recognize a student-athlete with a 3.5 grade-point average or higher, who also embodies the five core values of the Penn State York Athletic Department: accountability, courage, diligence, integrity and respect. In the background, Devin King, a men's basketball player, also was an award nominee. Other nominees, not pictured, were Jena Everett, a women's softball player, and Carter J. Miller, a soccer player.

Unity Day set for April 19 at Penn State York

A fashion show highlighting the traditional dress from many cultures, food samples, exhibits, and presentations will all be a part of Penn State York’s 20th annual Unity Day celebration, set for noon to 1:30 p.m. April 19 in the Conference Center of the Main Classroom Building.

Penn Players Fall 2017

The Penn Players will take to the stage at 6 p.m. April 18 and 19 with "The 9 Worst Breakups of All Time" at Penn State York's Pullo Family Performing Arts Center. The performances are free and open to the public. Last semester, the group staged "The Complete History of America (Abridged)."

Penn State York will celebrate the 20th anniversary of Unity Day from noon to 1:30 p.m. Thursday, April 19, in the campus conference center. A fashion show, information tables, international foods, and a variety of other exhibits are a part of the day, which is free and open to the public.

Doubleheader changed to single nine-inning game at PeoplesBank Park April 22

Penn State York will take on Penn State Mont Alto in a single, nine-inning baseball game beginning at 1 p.m. April 22. The matchup was originally scheduled as two, seven-inning games, but due to scheduling issues because of extended inclement weather this spring, it has been decided that this will be a single game. The game is free and open to the public.

David W. Chown, chancellor of Penn State York, right, congratulates Paula Presswood, a Penn State York student who was recently inducted into Alpha Sigma Lambda, an adult student honor society with a chapter on campus. Chown will be retiring as chancellor of Penn State York effective Aug. 1.
