The Big Ten Academic Alliance's Academic Leadership Program will include six new Fellows from Penn State in 2019-20. The program focuses on addressing the challenges of academic administration at major research universities. Through the program, participants who have demonstrated exceptional ability and administrative promise can further develop their leadership and managerial skills.

More than 200 seventh grade girls will explore all things STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics) during the 23rd annual Pathways to Your Future: Exploring STEAM Careers program on Friday, May 10 at Penn State York. The program offers 30 workshops, and is free.
Eleanor Sigrest gets a rocket ready to launch during last year's Pathways program. Sigrest, now a 10th grade student from Woodbridge, Virginia, led the workshop Aim for Mars. This year, she is one of the keynote speakers and will again lead a workshop to encourage participants to aim for Mars! She is a National Science Fair winner, and has received national attention for her work and was featured on NBC’s morning show, “Today.”
Noel Sloboda, Ph.D., associate professor of English, will explore the reasons why science fiction has become so popular. Students will have the opportunity read a variety of novels and analyze movies and television series.
