A shoebox of joy can make all the difference in a child's life and Mindy Gruzin, a Penn State York student, knows well because she received a shoebox back when she was 9-years-old and living in a Baltimore orphanage. Gruzin still has her shoebox and some of its contents. Gruzin shared her story with friends, and they decided to work with Operation Holiday Shoebox and make it a campus event.
Got corn? The Penn State York campus community collected more than 323 pounds of the yellow vegetable for LifePath Christian Ministries and their Community Giving Project.

Penn State York’s Main Classroom Building is set to close for the spring semester 2020 as the building undergoes renovations in order to provide new heating and cooling systems, duct work and high-efficiency lights, among other improvements.
Billy Dunkle. Penn State York's financial aid coordinator, has moved to room 324 of the Lee R. Glatfelter Library. In addition to general financial aid, Dunkel also works with student veterans on campus.
Penn State York's Main Classroom Building will be closing for the spring semester for renovations. Ryan Service, director of enrollment services, packs up boxes to be moved to room 102 on the lower level of the Pullo Family Performing Arts Center. The admissions office has already moved to the new location and will be there until renovations are complete in June 2020. Additional offices, classrooms and labs in the building will be moving during the next few weeks.
For the fourth consecutive year, students enrolled in the Advanced Child Development (HDFS 429) class at Penn State York, have organized Universal Children’s Day at the campus. This celebration of children is from 12:15-1:15 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13, in the Precision Custom Components (PCC) Community Room in the Joe and Rosie Ruhl Student Community Center on campus
