Parrish Petry Night is set for about 7:45 p.m. Dec. 6, following the completion of the women’s basketball game which begins at 6 p.m., in the gym of the Joe and Rosie Ruhl Student Community Center on campus. Many former players and alumni as well as many former assistants and fellow coaches will be present to honor the recently retired head men's basketball coach at Penn State York.
Parrish Petry Night is set for Friday, Dec. 6, when Penn State York honors Parrish Petry, the recently retired head men's basketball coach. In addition to honoring Petry, the 2019 Penn State University Athletic Conference (PSUAC) banner will be unveiled. Petry, on the far left holding a Nittany Lion statue, lead the York team to four PSUAC championships in his more than tean years as head coach.
Abraham “Abe” Amorós, Penn State class of 1990, president of Amorós Communications in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and member of the Penn State Board of Trustees, is the commencement speaker at Penn State York's 19th annual fall commencement on Dec. 20. He began his Penn State education at the York campus. In addition to speaking during the ceremony, Amorós will see his daughter, Sabrina, graduate with a degree in human development and family studies.
Penn State York is seeking nominations for the James H. Burness Award for Excellence in Teaching at the campus. Fall nominations are being accepted through Dec. 13.
