Helping people in need in the local community is the goal of some student groups at Penn State York. A donation drive for nonperishable food and hygiene items is under way until Nov. 20.
Students looking for a place to attend a Zoom class, study, or work in-between classes can visit Penn State York’s Remote Learning Room (Zoom Room), located on the lower floor of the Main Classroom Building in the Conference Center beginning Feb. 15. Students must wear a face mask and use headphones. Students needing information technology support can visit the computer labs in the M.S. Grumbacher Information Sciences and Technology Center beginning Jan. 19.
My-Hoa Do, a student at Penn State York and president of the Heroes of Penn State (HoPS,) shows off some of the items that have been collected for people in need. HoPs along with the Penn State York Student Government Association (SGA), Lion Ambassadors (LA), and University Programming Board (UPB) are collecting non-perishable food and hygiene items to distribute in the local community. The groups are working with the Impact Foundation of the York Suburban Education Foundation.
