David Witwer, professor of American studies in Penn State Harrisburg's School of Humanities and the 2020-21 Penn State Laureate, will share his research in a Zoom presentation set for 12:15 p.m. Friday, March 19. “Searching for Jimmy Hoffa: The Disappearance of America’s Most Notorious Labor Leader and Why It Still Matters Today” is his signature presentation.
Matt Howie, medical doctor, the city of York's medical director and chief health strategist, will share information about COVID-19 vaccines during a Zoom presentation, COVID-19 Vaccines in York County, set for 6:30 p.m. Feb. 11. The free program is sponsored by the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at Penn State York. Registration is required.
The York LaunchBox closes out the semester with Kelly Wylam, director, Innovation Partnership, Ben Franklin Technology Partners, sharing information about federal research and development grant programs for small business. The program, via Zoom, is free and open to the public, and offers participants an opportunity to ask questions.
Leadership training last year featured retired Brig. Gen. Maureen LeBoeuf, a faculty member at Thayer Leader Development Group at West Point, who spoke on the topic “Developing a Philosophy of Leadership.” This year, participants in the morning training session will hear from Jan Hargrave, one of the nation's leading behavioral authorities, body language expert, and trial consultant. At noon, students in the Graham Fellows Program for Entrepreneurial Leadership will also hear from Hargrave.
