Campus Allocation Committee: Penn State Student Fees
Penn State students are assessed a student fee as part of their semester bill. This translates into over $250,000 annually at Penn State York. Every dollar of the income generated remains at the campus to support a wide array of programs, facilities, and activities. The fee is made up of two parts: the student activity fee and the student facility fee.
The purpose is to improve the overall quality of the campus experience for students; to increase opportunities for student involvement in the educational process, particularly the out-of-class experience; and to enhance appropriate out-of-class services, spaces, and programs based on identified student needs.
The primary goals are to improve curricular opportunities; improve student non-academic spaces, develop engaging student activities; provide specialized services and programs for diverse populations; enrich the campus environment and encourage the involvement of students, thereby promoting academic achievement and the development of student potential.

All students, faculty, and staff are eligible to submit proposals for funding from the Allocation Committee. The allocation committee (comprised of six students, one staff member, and one faculty member) meets bi-weekly throughout the school year to review proposals. Proposals should be submitted a few weeks in advance of an event to allow for proper planning and advertising. The Allocation Board will make every effort to consider all proposals that are submitted at least 2 days prior to each meeting. Proposals submitted within one day or less may not be addressed until the next regularly scheduled meeting.
