Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP)

What is a certified dementia practitioner?

A certified dementia practitioner, or CDP, is someone with a certification demonstrating achievement and specialized training in the areas of Alzheimer's and dementia care.

Take the path to certification as a certified dementia practitioner through the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners (NCCDP).

This is the required seminar for those pursuing CDP© certification and who qualify through the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioner. Application for NCCDP credentials is an additional fee.*

Certification is open to those who qualify who work in the health care industry such as; continuing care retirement communities, nursing homes, assisted living communities, adult day care, rehabilitation centers, psychiatric facilities, management companies, associations, government, law firms, senior advisor locators, senior advisor companies, mobile companies, home care agencies, hospice agencies, pharmacist consulting companies, learning institutions, consulting companies, training companies, etc. For a comprehensive list of professions eligible for the certification, click here.

This one-day, 8-hour seminar is offered via Zoom. A virtual book is included in the price. If you would like a physical book, it can be purchased for an additional fee. A camera and microphone are required to be on the entire time of training.

Logistics

Future dates to be announced!

*Those who attend the seminar through Penn State will be charged $70 instead of the $150 credentialing fee charged by NCCDP. You will receive your discount voucher upon successful completion of the seminar.

Penn State has the option to cancel class due to under-enrollment (less than 10 students) and full refunds will be given.
