National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Walk shows community support
November 9, 2016
YORK, Pa. — Twenty Penn State York students, faculty, and staff members participated in the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Walk last month in York, Pennsylvania. This is the sixth year Penn State York has put together a group of walkers for the event, and this was the largest number of participants to date.
Under the direction of Ann Fetterman, instructor in English, the group raised $500 to support programs for the families of those with mental illness in the York community.
NAMI is dedicated to bringing the topic of mental illness out of the shadows. The agency offers educational programs and support groups for those living with mental illness and their families.
