Penn State York is celebrating its 17th annual fall commencement at 6 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 15, in the Pullo Family Performing Arts Center (The Pullo Center) at the campus. Alice Conner-Malyszek, director of manufacturing for BAE Systems’ Combat Vehicles U.S., based in York, Pennsylvania, is the commencement speaker.
Students can start preparing to take the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) by enrolling in Penn State York’s SAT prep course beginning Saturday, Jan. 27. The four-week course meets from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for four Saturdays in room 112 of the Edward M. Elias Science Building.
Experience 600 years of history in just 6,000 seconds when Penn State York’s Penn Players take to the stage with “The Complete History of America (abridged),” on Dec. 5 and 6 in the Pullo Family Performing Arts Center. The performances are free and open to the public. Tickets are not required.
Auditions for Penn State York Benefiting THON’s annual Paw Search, a family-friendly talent and variety show, are set for 1 to 4 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1, and 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 4, in the Community Room, Joe and Rosie Ruhl Student Community Center, at the campus.
Penn State York student-athletes, Hannah Price, women’s volleyball, and Francyou Desse, soccer, were named the winners of the John Fritz Sportsmanship Award given by the Penn State University Athletic Conference (PSUAC). Awards are presented to athletes at each campus.
Penn State Trustees today (Nov. 10) approved the naming of a new building to be constructed at Penn State York in honor of Don Graham, York business leader, philanthropist, and longtime supporter of Penn State York.
Nominations are now being accepted for the 2017-18 Penn State York Advising Award. Students may submit nominations for the award, which is presented at the Academic Awards Program in April of each year.
Becky Halstead, retired brigadier general, United States Army, shared her thoughts on leadership in a presentation, “Inspiring Courageous Leadership,” on Nov. 8 at Penn State York.
