Penn State York will once again honor the late Maddie Hill during a ceremony on Dec. 1 at 7:30 p.m. at the campus. Hill battled cancer three times and her life continues to be an inspiration for others. The words "Fight Like Hill" have come to serve as a mantra for her strength at battling cancer.
Penn State York’s Student Veterans of America (SVA), York Chapter, is once again sponsoring a Toys for Tots drive on campus. SVA has joined with the First Capitol Detachment # 521, Marine Corps League of York, Pennsylvania, for this project. New, unopened, and unwrapped toys and books will be collected through noon on Dec. 4.
Students from across the commonwealth, including six from Penn State York, gathered for a Tour Guide Summit at the University Park campus on Nov. 4 and 5.
Five Penn State York students were nominated for and attended the 2023 Pennsylvania Conference for Women in Philadelphia. The group traveled to the Pennsylvania Convention Center in October, where they could select a session track focusing on leadership, career or personal development.
Penn State York will be closed in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday from Wednesday through Friday, Nov. 22-24. Classes are not in session Nov. 20-24.
Penn State York will observe University Children's Day on Thursday, Nov. 16 thanks to the efforts of students in the Human Development and Family Studies (HDFS) Club and students taking the HDFS 311 Interventions course.
Human trafficking is the topic for a free Zoom lecture offered by the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at Penn State York as a part of their timely topics series. The presentation is set for Nov. 30 at 5 p.m.
"Bad Auditions by Bad Actors," a comedy by Ian McWethy, is the fall production of the Penn Players at Penn State York, with four performances set for Nov. 8 and 9.
