Takira McDowell, graduating with a bachelor of science degree in human development and family studies, takes advantage of the open microphone opportunity during the Penn State York fall commencement in December 2022. The tradition of allowing students to speak for a moment continues on Friday, Dec. 15 at 6 p.m., when the campus holds commencement in the Pullo Family Performing Arts Center. The event is free and open to the public.
There will be plenty of pomp and circumstance when Penn State York celebrates the accomplishments of students during the fall commencement set for 6 p.m. in the Pullo Family Performing Arts Center on campus.
Penn State York will once again honor the late Maddie Hill during a ceremony on Dec. 1 at 7:30 p.m. at the campus. Hill battled cancer three times and her life continues to be an inspiration for others. The words "Fight Like Hill" have come to serve as a mantra for her strength at battling cancer.
Course brings Penn State York students and Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at Penn State York members together for intergenerational conversations.

Lance Fishel, a Penn State York student-veteran and president of the club, and John Murphy, a Penn State York student-veteran and vice president of the club, show off some of the toys that have been collected so far. The toy drive continues until Dec. 4 with collection boxes placed around the campus.

Penn State York’s Student Veterans of America (SVA), York Chapter, is once again sponsoring a Toys for Tots drive on campus. SVA has joined with the First Capitol Detachment # 521, Marine Corps League of York, Pennsylvania, for this project. New, unopened, and unwrapped toys and books will be collected through noon on Dec. 4.
Students from across the commonwealth, including six from Penn State York, gathered for a Tour Guide Summit at the University Park campus on Nov. 4 and 5.
