It’s the year of the rooster, and Penn State York is celebrating Chinese New Year from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Jan. 31 with a variety of activities, food and more. The festivities, which will take place in the Conference Center of the Main Classroom Building, are free and open to the public.

Magician Peter Boie will take to the stage at Penn State York’s Pullo Family Performing Arts Center at 7 p.m. on Feb. 2, and showcase his sleight-of-hand skills when the campus’ free cultural series continues. The performance, which is free and open to the public, does not require tickets.
In April, Mana Polynesian Dance will give a free performance as part of the campus cultural series. The show is set for 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 4, in The Pullo Center on campus.

Tickets are on sale now for Penn State York Benefiting THON’s "Paw Search," which is set for 7 p.m. on Jan. 20, in the Pullo Family Performing Arts Center (The Pullo Center) on campus. Proceeds from the talent show go to the campus THON committee's effort to raise money to find a cure for pediatric cancer through the Penn State IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon.
Jason LeVasseur, an award-winning singer and songwriter, will serve as emcee at Penn State York Benefiting THON's Paw Search at 7 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 20, in the Pullo Family Performing Arts Center (The Pullo Center) on campus. LeVasseur has opened for the group Train, the Dave Matthews Band, Ludacris, Maroon 5, John Mayer, The Roots, The Wallflowers, Benfolds, LMFAO, and Sugarland. Tickets are $10 for the general public and $5 for students and children under age 12.
Velocity Vortex is the name of the game when 36 teams of middle and high school students from across Pennsylvania and Maryland take part in the FTC (FIRST Tech Challenge) South Central PA Regional Qualifier, robotics competition, on Saturday, Jan. 21 from 7 a.m.-5:15 p.m. at Penn State York.
