UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — National Coffee with a Cop Day is on Oct. 7, and Penn State police officers are celebrating by hosting a virtual event at noon for the Penn State community.
Penn State employees and students are invited to join this Zoom event during the lunch hour. Participants can enjoy coffee or their lunch while getting to know the police officers who serve Penn State’s campuses. Employees and students also can ask questions and learn about the programs and services offered by University Police, a division of University Police and Public Safety.
Participants must register in advance for this free event. Register here.
“Penn State police officers host community events throughout the year at all of the 22 campuses we serve, and National Coffee with a Cop Day is another way for our officers to show appreciation to our community,” said Charlie Noffsinger, assistant vice president of University Police and Public Safety. “We encourage members of our community to join this session as a way to get to know our police officers better and learn about the many programs and services we offer.”
In 2019, Penn State police officers hosted the first department-wide National Coffee with a Cop Day, with events at 22 campuses. The positive feedback received from both students and employees prompted University Police and Public Safety to host a modified version of the event for 2020.
