Making the holiday season a little brighter for children is something the Student Veterans of America (SVA), York County Chapter, enjoys doing. Once again, they have joined forces with the First Capital Marine Corps League for a Toys for Tots drive. The collection of new, unopened, and unwrapped toys continues through Dec. 9 on campus.
Veterans from all branches of the United States Military held a giant American Flag on the field at Beaver Stadium during the playing of The Star Spangled Banner prior to the game between the Nittany LIons and the Iowa Hawkeyes. Penn State earned their seventh win of the 2016 season defeating Iowa 41-14.
David W. Chown, chancellor of Penn State York, presents many awards during the annual Academic Awards Program held each April. The Advising Award is presented during this event, and fall nominations are open now through Nov. 30 for the 2016-17 award.
Poker with Jimmy is a family affair with all members of the Clark family, and students in Penn State York Benefiting THON, working to raise money for children and their families battling pediatric cancer. Alex, Wanita, Jimmy, Jim, and Tori Clark are committed to giving back to show their appreciation for all they received through THON and Four Diamonds during Jimmy's battle with cancer.
