The Ruhl Center is the heart of student activities and athletics on campus, and the renovations to the existing building, along with the addition, provides much needed space for the campus community.
Landscapers put the finishing touches on the area outside a portion of the Joe and Rosie Ruhl Student Community Center at Penn State York in preparation for the grand opening celebration on Oct. 12. The $13.5 million building renovation and addition began more than a year ago.
Old Main's bell — its chimes long replaced by modern technology — was removed and restored as a gift of Penn State’s class of 2009, and is now displayed outdoors at ground level near Old Main’s southwest corner.
A community blood drive is set for Thursday, Aug. 25, at Penn State York. The campus is joining forces with Fox 43 and the American Red Cross to help increase blood supplies. The blood drive, from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. in the Conference Center of the Main Classroom Building, is open to the public. Michael Adams, a Penn State York student, knows it is important to stay hydrated when donating blood.
With 13-month-old Elena as additional motivation, parents and students Pete Pitilis Jr. and Lesly Salazar have heightened their focus on their respective degrees, including a summer internship for Lesly.
