Martin Luther King Jr. spoke to an estimated 9,000 people inside Penn State's newly expanded Recreation Hall on Jan. 21, 1965. King told the crowd that “segregation is on its death bed today,” and the only question was “how costly the segregationist will make the funeral.” King was assassinated in Memphis, Tennessee, on April 4, 1968.

Auditions for Penn State York Benefiting THON's Paw Search are set for 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 19, in the rehearsal room of the Pullo Family Performing Arts Center on campus. Proceeds from the event, set for Jan. 20, 2017, will benefit THON.

Ginia M. Moore, right, a senior in human development and family studies at Penn State York, works with Jane Emery, director of advising and career development and coordinator of the Division of Undergraduate Studies at Penn State York. Despite some tough times in life, Moorehead has persevered and will graduate on Dec. 16 during commencement ceremonies at Penn State York. She is dedicated to making life better for herself and her two daughters.

Universal Children's Day at Penn State York was an exciting day, and Ginia Moorehead brought her daughters to the celebration sponsored by the Council on Family Relations (CFR), the York campus chapter of the organization. Moorehead, who is a CFR member, is pictured with her youngest daughter.

York Toys for Tots 2016

Hundreds of toys were collected at Penn State York during the Toys for Tots campaign sponsored by the Student Veterans of America, York Chapter, on campus.  Joe Royer and Jessica Petrie, advisers for the group, and Russell Heindel, Penn State York student and president of the local SVA chapter, left to right, gathered up the toys from around the campus so they could be picked up by the local Marine Corps group.
