Jessica Petko, assistant professor of biology at Penn State York, is coordinating Brain Awareness Day at the campus. The event features educational and fun activities related to neuroscience, mental health, psychology, and learning.
Penn State York students, faculty, staff, and members of the York community are invited to put their brains to work on Wednesday, April 5 when the campus celebrates Brain Awareness Day from 12-1:30 p.m. in the conference center of the Main Classroom Building. The event is free and open to the public.
Mana Polynesia closes out Penn State York's free cultural series on April 4 with a performance at 7 p.m. in the Pullo Family Performing Arts Center (The Pullo Center) on campus. Tickets are not needed for this performance.
Deb Harrison, director of the York County Children’s Advocacy Center, spoke during the candlelight vigil last year at Penn State York sponsored by the Penn State York Council on Family Relations (PSY-CFR), a student club. The vigil this year is set for 4 p.m. March 30 in the Conference Center on the lower level of the Main Classroom Building. Members of the CFR Club, and other students majoring in human development and family students (HD FS) will speak. The event is free and open to the public.
The Statesmen, Penn State's premier all-male a capella group will perform at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 2, in Penn State York's Pullo Family Performing Arts Center (The Pullo Center). Tickets are just $10, and are on sale now. Following the performance, there is an ice cream social sponsored by the Penn State Alumni Association, York County Chapter.
Discover Penn State York during the Spring Open House set for 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 1. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. Preregistration is encouraged and can be done online at york.psu.edu/openhouse or by calling 717-771-4040.
