The 2016-17 recipients were Gene Ellis, left, part-time instructor in communication arts and sciences, and Orsay Kucukemiroglu, professor of business administration. Kucukemiroglu retired June 30, 2017, and now has emeritus status.

Last year's event raised more then $8,000 for THON and ultimately went to Four Diamonds at the Penn State Hershey Children Hospital to help children and their families battling pediatric cancer. The poker tournament is not a pay for play event, donations are accepted and this is Clark's way of giving back for the help he received during his battle with cancer.
Penn State York students celebrate Diwali, the festival of lights. As part of the celebration, participants can paint clay candle holders called Diyas. The campus celebration is set for 4-6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 19, in the conference center of the Main Classroom Building, and is being held as part of the campus' Coffee Hour.
