Members of the Penn State York group doing disaster-relief work in areas of Texas ravaged by Hurricane Harvey, hold on to a power line while others take down a shed that is no longer able to be used. The 12-person group from York, 10 students and two chaperones, are part of a 100-person team from Penn State making a difference with an alternative spring break. The group returns over the weekend, and heads back to classes Monday, March 12.

Lance Strate, a media ecologist from Fordham University, will speak at noon March 14 at Penn State York. Strate's presentation, "Amusing, Informing, and Amazing Ourselves to Death: Contemplating the Technological Tempest of the Time," will be held in the community room of the Joe and Rosie Ruhl Student Community Center, and is open to the public.
