SAFE Course York

Students at Penn State York participated in the Self-Defense Awareness and Familiarization Exchange (SAFE) Course Program Opportunity for Women in January at the campus. A second opportunity to take the free course is set for Friday, Feb. 22 from 1:30-4 p.m. in Room 112 of the Joe and Rosie Ruhl Student Community Center.  The course is free to all women on campus, and provided by the Police and Public Safety Department at Penn State York.

Robotics Tourney at York

Penn State York will host two days of robotics competition, the FTC (FIRST Tech Challenge) South Central PA Regional Qualifier, robotics competition, on Saturday, Feb. 2 and the Blue and White Qualifier on Sunday, Feb. 3.  Rover Ruckus is the game and 54 teams of middle and high school students will compete for the opportunity to move on to the state competition.

A celebration of Lunar New Year, sometimes referred to as Chinese New Year or Spring Festival, is set for Tuesday, Feb. 5 at Penn State York.  Paper cutting is one of the many activities planned for the celebration from noon until 1:30 p.m. in the Conference Center of the Main Classroom Building. Fundamentals of Cybersecurity is set to begin on Feb. 26, and will take place in the M.S. Grumbacher Information Sciences and Technology Center (Grumbacher) at Penn State York. The six-week course is designed to provide information technology (IT) professionals with the tools needed to to prevent or deal with cyberattacks.
