The beam-signing ceremony brought together more than 100 people to leave their a mark on a steel beam that will become a part of a new building under construction at Penn State York.

Colored marks were the tool of choice and a steel beam was the canvas for Penn State York students, faculty, staff, and friends of the campus to use to leave their mark on the Graham Center for Innovation and Collaboration (The Graham Center) during an event on Oct. 28.

Leaving their marks, Graham candidates, Penn State York students who are part of the Graham Fellows Program for Entrepreneurial Leadership (Graham Fellows Program) were the first to sign the steel beam during a ceremony on Monday, Oct. 28.   Their signatures, along with writing from more than 100 others, will become a permanent part of the Graham Center for Innovation and Collaboration (The Graham Center) when it opens in spring 2020.

The Nittany Lion Shrine basks in the early morning sunlight on a crisp, autumn day. The shrine, cut from a 13-ton block of limestone by Heinz Warneke and Joseph Garatti, was dedicated in October of 1942 and celebrated it's 77th birthday Oct. 24.

The 10th annual Poker with Jimmy is set for Saturday, Nov 16 at the Goodwill Fire Company in York, Pennsylvania.  Jimmy Clark, a cancer survivor and Penn State  graduate, will host the 10th annual Poker with Jimmy event with all proceeds going to the Penn State Dance Marathon and Four Diamonds.  This is a fundraising event for Penn State York Benefiting THON and is not a pay-to-play event.  Players can make a suggested donation of $30 or just attend and play poker with Clark.  Last year's winners smiled for the camera with Clark, left to right, Jeff Schmuck, third place; Alec Chronister, second place, Jimmy Clark, poker host; and Jesse Conway, first place finisher.

The 2018 Santa for Soldiers project gather 19 boxes of items to help make the holidays brighter for soldiers. Alanna Bortolin, left, and Joyce Turner, right, delivered and mailed the packages. Items can be donated until Nov. 11, and monetary donations for postage will also be accepted until then.

The Nittany Lion paused for a moment with participants in the Walk A Mile in Her Shoes event in York, Pennsylvania, which benefits the YWCA of York and its work to raise awareness and help survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence and human trafficking. Michelle Xu, Kelsey Haines and Nick Nolte, left to right, were a part of the 34-member Penn State York Team that raised more than $3,800.
