Students hang drywall

York ASB 2019

Penn State York's 2019 ASB trip was to Wilmington, North Carolina, where students and chaperones worked om projects following the devastation of Hurricane Florence.  Sheri Yoder, global education coordinator at Penn State York and a trip chaperone, worked with students Lauren Thornton and Yaxin Zhang to hang drywall in a house damaged by the hurricane.

Making a difference during spring break, 16 Penn State York students and two staff members are headed to Puerto Rico for an Alternative Spring Break (ASB) where they will work doing disaster relief, eco projects, and supporting Boys and Girls Club Las Margaritas.

The York County Science and Engineering Fair is set for Monday-Wednesday, March 9-11, in the gym of the Joe and Rosie Ruhl Student Community Center at Penn State York.  Public viewing of projects is on Wednesday beginnning at 5:30 p.m., and the awards ceremony is set for  7 p.m. in the Pullo Family Performing Arts Center (The Pullo Center) on campus.

York Quarter Final

Penn State York defeated Penn State Hazleton, 58-46, in the Penn State University Athletic Conference  (PSUAC) East quarterfinal on Feb. 25, and moves on to the semifinal on Friday night, Feb. 28,  at 7 p.m. in the Joe and Rosie Ruhl Student Community Center at York.

Penn State York's Staff Advisory Council (SAC) was honored by the York County Unity Way with a Community Builder Award.  SAC members attended the celebration, left to right, Joe Royer, chair-elect; Jane Pflaum, chair,; and general members; Dawn Oswald, Christina Lee, and Iona Conlon.

York Candlelight Vigil

York Cabdlelight Vigil

Penn State York students, faculty, staff, and members of the community took part in a candlelight  vigil last year to raise awareness about child abuse and prevention.  This year's program has been expanded to include raising awareness about human trafficking and sexual assault, in addition to child abuse.  The event is set for March 4 at noon, and is free and open to the public.  Students in the Human Development and Family Studies (HDFS) Club organize the event each year.

York Men's Basketball Team

The Penn State York men's basketball team has clinched the top seed in the Penn State University Athletic Conference (PSUAC) East and will host a playoff quarterfinal game at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 25. The game is free and open to the public.
