Giving back to the local community was part of New Student Orientation at Penn State York. Students worked in York at Central Market, DreamWrights, the Lehman Center, Martin Library, Serenity Garden of Hope, St. Patrick's Catholic Church, York Central Market, and the York Rescue Mission.

Showing off their painting skills, Penn State York students painted the walls, doors and other areas at the York Rescue Mission. This group, in a narrow hallway, took a break to stretch their legs and smile for the camera. Some students also worked outside picking up trash and other debris on the city streets surrounding the mission.
